John P Begley is an independent entertainment professional with a history in music, production in-print/streaming publications and short film.
He served as a contributing editor and writer for Procession Magazine, an in-print publication. His specific contributions to the publication include:
Currently the online publication Nocturnazine is John's "pen to paper" home for music reviews.
As a bass guitarist and vocalist, he founded several acts including Live Not on Evil, I Will I and has experience in studio recording and coordinating live events in the Philadelphia area. He has released an "old school" Halloween horror audio release entitled Classic Halloween Sounds with a long-time studio partner Iggs Worldwide. You can find all work on the 1890 Media Records site on Bandcamp.
Outside of his work with Procession Magazine, He contributed to the following in-print releases Paracinema Magaizne (Vol.3), Virtute Et Morte, and currently a review writer with Nocturnazine.
As a Line Producer at MVD, he helped produce numerous DVD titles including the hilarious insider film Cannes Man, Graffiti Rock (w/ Run-DMC), and the Reggae Grammy winners Morgan Heritage.
Radio
As a reoccurring guest on the Philly radio station Y100 as "The Goth Guy" The Morning Show with DJ Paul Barsky gave John the platform to "scare up" some funny moments. This opportunity helped his band I Will I as they became regionally recognized then internationally with the Cleopatra Records releases of The Unquiet Grave#1, The Goth Box DVD and The Tongue Achieves the Dialect on Dark Vinyl Records (Germany) He is the very first to have a music compilation TV commercial (entitled Final Reflections ) when it appeared on the Halloween episode of Svengoolie in 2021 on MeTV.
He currently has resurfaced in the film industry as he pursues his first full length feature as Writer/Director of The Tree of Witchery.
